Dior does its trick

The D’Trick line is in true harmony with the many facets of femininity. More innovative than ever and in keeping with John Galliano’s latest line - based on the belief that Marlene was the “mother of the light” - the Malice D’Trick dresses up in pearls, morroring the accessories worn at the latest Dior fashion shows. Glamorous and sexy, the watch line is also ingenious in the detachability of its string of pearls as suits the occasion. Since Marlene used to transform herself like magic and Galliano keeps transforming her in his latest couture line, this is why even the watch-line can also be worn in various social events based on how you sport it.

Creating a pun on the last name of Marlene, Dietrich becomes D’Trick, a combination of the ‘D’ from Dior and the piquant personality of Marlene, known for her versatility and the tricks she played on others.

The collection has strains of old Hollywood glamour with just enough edge to make it intriguing and modern. Detailed with delicate pearls and fox fur, with a definite boudoir and punk feel, it’s the ultimate combination for the modern woman who is confident and bold, sexy and flirtatious.

The watches sporting the D’Trick look are — Chris 47 Chrono, Chris 47 Steel Set Dial D’Trick, Riva Sparkling and Malice D’Trick. The latest collection indeed is a blend of today’s freedom of expression with the reminiscence of past opulence. Never unilateral, the collection also reflects the diverse personalities of rock stars Courtney Love or Marriane Faithful. Satin, muslin and lace - the line finds complete synergy with its watch line - classy, elegant, bold and intricate.

The D’Trick collection was in fact so successful, that Hollywood came out to celebrate in their chicest Dior attire at Los Angeles earlier this year. From Kelly Osbourne to Whitney Houston, Ashanti and 50 Cent, D’ Trick was the line to be sported and spotted in. The trend-setting watch range was launched in India during the Lakmé India Fashion Week, 2004, at a party hosted by Ravi Thakran and designer Rohit Bal.

As Dior US President, Marlo Sabo, aptly mentions, “Sophisticated, pulled together and beautiful, the Dior woman is of any age and comes from all walks of life.” Perhaps, that is why the creation of the D’Trick line, which in its essence is meant to be worn in different times in different ways and by different personalities, is adorned by those who believe in the ‘bold and the beautiful’.
