Titan and Tanishq have been chosen among the top 100 brands
in India by Superbrands India, the Indian division of the
globally renowned Superbrands Limited. The two brands were
nominated from among 711 brands across 98 categories by a
panel of eminent advertising, marketing, research and media
professionals. The criteria for the choice included perceived
brand image plus the brands' mind share, goodwill, consumer
loyalty, trust and emotional bonding. Said Bhaskar Bhat, managing
director, Titan Industries Limited, "The nomination is a tribute
to the millions of Indian customers who have time and again
placed their trust in our brands." Launched in the UK in 1993
by marketing guru Marcel Knobil, Superbrands Organisation
is present in 17 countries worldwide. Every year, the councils
in each country select the top brands under various categories
and award them the status of Superbrands. Superbrands India
was launched in India in 2002.
Scintillating
Sintra
Swiss watch company Rado celebrated the tenth anniversary
of the successful Sintra series by introducing the Sintra
Superjubilé - an impressive model in colourful variations
inlaid with precious stones. The watch was unveiled by Rado
brand ambassador Lisa Ray in the presence of regional sales
manager, Rado, Christian Leiggener and country manager, Swatch
Group India Pvt Ltd, G Kannan. A classy dance performance
by Ashley Lobo's dance troupes - a fusion of Indian classical
and western dance - marked the occasion. Sintra Superjubilé
is available in a choice of four different dial variations,
framed either with diamonds or blue/ pink coloured sapphires.
Dine
for a Cause
Chopard opened the doors of its boutique at 1, Place Vendome
for an exclusive dinner given in honour of Sir Elton John
on behalf of the Elton John Aids Foundation. The theme of
the evening was: Humanity and Friendship. Around 50 people
attended the dinner, including Liz Hurley, Arun Nayar, Prince
Michael of Yugoslavia, Princess Helena of Yugoslavia and her
husband Thierry Gaubert. The evening also saw the launch of
the new gem-set chronographs in the Elton John collection.
This limited edition ranges from a sports steel model produced
in a series of 2,000 to jewellery watch models in 13 variations
limited from 50 to 200 depending on the version.
Rai's
Day Out!
Aishwarya Rai, ambassador of elegance for Swiss watch brand
Longines, made a rare personal appearance at Alpha Omega -
Boston's watch and diamond specialist. Ash began her day with
a visit to the Alpha Omega Natick Mall, where she signed autographs
and introduced the new Longines Evidenza collection. After
a press conference at the Charles Hotel, she mingled with
a select group of clients during a private cocktail reception
at the Alpha Omega flagship store in Harvard Square. Aishwarya
Rai has been a brand ambassador for Longines since 1999.
