MEGA Speedmaster – ‘Moon Watch’
Apparently, one day, some of NASA’s astronauts decided to buy a whole lot of watches and put them to the ultimate test – whether or not they could be used in outer space. After subjecting the various brands to extreme temperatures, vacuums, intense humidity, corrosion, shocks, acceleration, pressure, vibrations and noise, they singled out one – The Omega Speedmaster. It’s the only watch to be worn on the Moon and the only watch to be flight qualified for extra vehicular use by NASA and chosen for use in outer space by the Russian space agency NPO Energija. When it comes to travel watches, this one goes the farthest.

Tissot Navigator
The Navigator has a very sophisticated feature lurking beneath its rugged exterior. The glass over the dial acts as a touch screen through which you can select from the various functions available, namely, the local time and the time on four other time zones (150 countries and cities stored in memory), two alarms, calendar (automatic summer/winter switchover and perpetual calendar up to 2099), chronograph and timer. To select the T World function to display the time in a particular place all you have to do is press the crown key and then touch the screen (tactile zone) where the bezel is marked T World and select the continent, country and city of your choice.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Geographic
A timepiece with a resolutely nomadic spirit, the Master Compressor Geographic is the classic simultaneous time-zone watch. Characterised by its user-friendliness, it displays a unique feature with the dial layout, which has multiple time-zone indications and brings the entire world to your wrist. At first glance, you may think that it’s simply a dual time watch. But the circular scroll wheel below reveals a series of places – London, Paris Cairo. Simply rotate it to your destination and the inner watch piece will change to the time in that location while the main piece remains at your home time. Moreover, the AM/PM display indicates whether one is in the first or second twelve-hour cycle of the chosen location. Water-resistant to 100 meters, this watch beats to the rhythm of Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 923, a mechanical automatic movement.

Breitling Navitimer
This unique chronograph has a built-in navigation computer in the form of a circular slide rule, which is capable of performing all the calculations a flight plan requires. The slide rule is operated by rotating the bezel, which slides round a fixed scale on the dial’s rim. The slide rule can make calculations relating to aerial navigation, preparation of flight plans and calculations needed in daily life. It can determine fuel consumption, climbing or descent rates, average speed, and conversion of distances or even exchange rates. Any rule of three can be solved in a single operation. The watch comes with an instruction manual on how to use the conversion and calculation function as well as a large mock dial and slide rule bezel for you to practice on. It’s also the official watch of the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association).

Dubey & Schaldenbrand Aerodyn Duo (GMT)
This simple and elegant GMT watch allows you to adjust and set the second time zone of your choice. It’s a standard dual time watch with automatic movement. The case is formed from 18k rose gold with diamonds on the bezel and is available in black or white dial with a brown or black crocodile leather strap.
