So how do you associate yourself with TAG?
Well, TAG Heuer is the leader in luxury sports watches and chronographs.
Personally, I associate the brand with perfection, precision, prestige
and professionalism. Well-known personalities like Tiger Woods, Marion
Jones, Kimi Raikkonen etc. highlight the immense respect and equity
that the brand enjoys worldwide. TAG Heuer is a brand that has always
stood the test of time. Meeting new challenges with passion and performance
are qualities I relate to very well.
Celebrities endorsing brands has become a trend now. Is that
also the reason for your current association?
To put it straight and simple, I only endorse those that I
truly and absolutely believe in. In the past, there have been several
watch companies who have approached me for endorsing. But when TAG
Heuer came to me, I readily accepted. The reasons are simple. I’ve
always been fond of TAG watches but what really caught my attention
is the catch line of TAG - ‘What are you made of’. I think it conveys
a great challenging thought!
Do you believe watches also make style statements?
Yes, of course! Besides timekeeping, a watch also makes for
a great fashion accessory and helps in making a strong individual
fashion statement. In today’s date and time, the watch you wear
speaks volumes about your personality.
And would you call yourself a ‘watch person’?
I am most definitely a watch person, more so because I value
time and its importance. I own quite a few watches- Fendi, Dior
etc. However, my favourite among them is the new TAG Heuer Link
Ladies watch. It has a fashionable fusion of diamonds, steel, polished
gold and a mother of pearl dial, what I’d call a perfect tribute
to femininity.
Considering the price-range of luxury brands, do you think watches
can be labelled as good investments?
It would not be fair for me to comment on this, as I’m not
aware of prices of all watches. But if a timepiece stands for timeless
performance, style and precision, then I think it would definitely
be worth purchasing.
Honestly, given a choice between a watch and a solitaire, which
one would you go for?
[Smiles] Well, both are equally close to me. But on a more practical
note, I think I’d go for a good watch over a rock. Watches can provide
beauty and style in addition to functionality.
You are known to take to things that are ‘ballsy, gutsy and
kick-ass’. How does TAG meet your demands?
Absolutely! TAG symbolizes speed, liveliness, energy, sporting
attitude and an adventurous speed- all attributes that strike a
chord of harmony with my personality.
